Applications

 Performance Evaluation

pcextract provides you with a  visual evaluation of your GPS receiver by allowing you to  select and plot any parameter or set of parameters your  receiver produces that characterize its performance. You have  full control over all aspects of the evaluation process. Save  your analysis configuration in setup files to quickly  load-and-go with new data files.

 Receiver Testing

With pcextract, you can quickly  and easily produce hardcopy plots of GPS receiver test data  that indicate whether a unit has passed qualification under  given conditions. Compose your own data, such as position  offset from "truth", velocity magnitude,  North-East-Up values, figures of merit, and so on, limited  only by your imagination. Filter as many parameters as you  wish, specifying upper/lower range criteria, so that your  plot output is free from unwanted values.

 Post-processing

Using pcextract's unique ability  to mathematically compose data of your own choosing, you can  produce new parameters that reflect combinations of  post-processed raw data. For example, smooth out and filter  noise, select only those position fixes recorded with good  C/n0 or high quality figures of merit.

 Evaluation Reports

Use pcextract to generate  report-style ASCII output to document your evaluation. Again,  you have control over which parameters will appear in the  output file and in which order. You can include composed  points you have created together with the raw data captured  from the receiver.

 Format Translation

pcextract can also be used as a  receiver format translator by exporting selected parameters  from raw binary form into ASCII or constant-length binary  records. These can then be loaded back into pcextract for quicker analysis or exported to a variety of commercial  applications.

 Generic Tool

pcextract is not just for GPS  receiver applications! It can be used on any binary or ASCII  data to interpret, analyze, and evaluate the information.  There is no limit to the size of the file. It is completely  generic -- customize your own record format files for  analyzing data from any source.
